  4.   Ferret will gather all the saved 'access information' from any
  5. mounted volume on your Mac, and print it out in a console window.
  6. First, it gathers information from files which exist in known
  7. locations (preference files, etc.), then it searches the volume
  8. catalog of each mounted volume for other important files that may
  9. reside elsewhere on each drive (bookmarks, etc.).  You can stop it
  10. at any time by typing Command-period.
  11.   Ferret is meant to be used in conjunction with a startup disk, or
  12. when you only have a few seconds of unmonitored access to a machine,
  13. and you want to quickly gather all the usernames/passwords/etc..

  33. Known Bugs:

  35.   My DES decryption algorithm is incomplete so the OT/PPP and ARA
  36. passwords are just a hex dump.  They can* be pasted into their correct
  37. places in the "Remote Access Connections" prefs file, but I'll fix
  38. this soon enough.
  39.   Some (not many) File Sharing passwords are not decrypted properly,
  40. so a "[?]" is printed instead.
  41.   Gathering information from the File Sharing registry does not work
  42. across mounted AppleShare volumes.
  43.   Ferret, currently, does not work well underwater.  This is because I
  44. am unable hold my breath underwater for more than a few seconds at a
  45. time. :P

  49.   This project is actually a handful of pieces from another (much
  50. larger) project of mine called Fink (see http://jindel.cjb.net).
  51.   This application currently uses a simple SIOUX console, and does
  52. not yet support dragging files onto it.
  53.   I plan to release this with full source code when it is finished,
  54. but until then, you'll just have to trust me.  ;)

  60.   Replace SIOUX with WASTE.
  61.   Add the ability to drop one or more files directly onto the Ferret

  63.   Add an options dialog (to auto-save to a file, turn on/off searches,
  64. etc.) that can be brought up from within the application or by
  65. holding down shift at launch.
